Let me tell you this place is worth the wait. I called in on a Tuesday when they opened and was surprised when they told me it was an hour before my food would be ready. However, I've heard great remarks from my neighbors and friend so I had to try it out. When I went to pick it up, I could tell why the wait was so long. It was packed and parties waiting to get inside. But it didn't seem hectic and the staff looked like they had the system down. I would recommend making reservations prior to dining! Now the sushi was absolutely delicious. After reading the reviews, I knew I had to try an item from their "secret" menu and it did not disappoint! The next time roll was my favorite out of the two. Whatever sauce that came with, wow it's amazing. I highly recommend. Next time, I'll dine in and try more of their menu. Everything tasted so fresh- I can see why this place is so popular!

I recently found this spot December 21s of last year on my birthday and oh my god am I so thankful for it. Me and my boyfriend are 45 minutes away but the drive is so worth it and sometimes we even stop at the dog beach close by there before while waiting for it to open haha. Service is great, food is amazing can't go wrong here.

This place is a hidden gem! The food is always so good and everything tastes so fresh. There has never been a time I've gone here and left disappointed.

We have been customers of Irassae since it opened. We love the people and the food. I love sending people to them because I know that they will always be happy. The value is outstanding as well. I feel like we never, ever leave hungry, ok we often times over eat because the food is just that good!

the restaurant itself is pretty small. we came at 7pm on wednesday night and had a 45minute wait. we were a party of 5 and got seated at the bar. not ideal, i would have preferred they told us we were going to be seated there, but we were brought inside first, led to the bar then asked if bar seating was okay. the sushi chef was very friendly. servers were on top of filling our waters and taking away finished plates. sushi itself was fresh, and uniqe rolls. we got the chirashi bowl and the ghost roll. my boyfriend and i shared these and were full. substantial and quality food. ghost roll was not spicy at all but had a nice flavor to it. fish in the chirashi bowl was super fresh and the rice was well seasoned.

Food is amazing! The fish here is fresh, we ordered the speciality rolls & one off the menu (HB roll) - albacore roll - summer rolls - next time roll - HB roll This is probably my new favorite sushi spot in OC. I like how the rolls are drenched in the sauce. The albacore roll is seared and had a tangy citrus taste. Most of them were citrusy tasting but I didn't mind. The service was great, always checking up on our table if we needed more water. The place is small so make sure to have your whole party here as you wait for a seat.

you NEED to come here for the sauciest, most flavorful sushi rolls!! 'green mussels': mussel and mayo combo is ELITEE!comes with five mussels and was pleasantly surprised that it came on a small bed of rice! I also liked how the mussel wasn't too chewy either. 'next time roll': soy paper roll with imitation crab and tempura, topped with salmon, avocado, and masago. covered in a slightly sweet and spicy chili oil sauce, this was a flavor explosion! 'hb roll': my favorite one and not even sure what was in it...but trust me, this is a MUST GET! it was citrusy/tangy, creamy, and had a nice little kick! also tasted very fresh. **both rolls are on the secret menu/off the menu btw! everything was so good, definitely will be coming back!!

Hidden gem so good ! Everyone is so friend and the sushi is so fresh Will continue to come back over and over again even though it's a drive for us. So worth it

Amazing boutique sushi! The restaurant is charming and feels authentic. The only reason why I didn't rate 5 starts was because of the service. We got there around 8:30 PM and we had to order quickly because they were closing soon (understood) , but we received a bit of attitude from a couple of waiters. We will come back for the food but avoid coming in late to see if the service improves. I recommend the Ghost Roll and giant scallops!
